Use case - Remote control
Manage your local dev servers from your phone.
Your API crashed, a teammate needs the staging preview, or you just want to know whether the worker is still running. Dev Server Deck puts every project on your development machine one tap away - without remote desktop and without opening ports on your network.
Local development stops at the edge of your desk
Development servers, workers and databases run on the machine you work on. The moment you step away, checking or fixing them means finding a laptop, starting a remote desktop session, or waiting until you are back.
Remote desktop is heavy on a phone, SSH needs port forwarding or a VPN and a terminal, and neither gives you a clear view of which projects are running, on which ports, and why one of them stopped.
How it works
- 1
Install the Local Agent
Run the Agent on your Windows or Linux development machine - including headless Linux servers and WSL projects. macOS is coming soon. It connects outward to the relay, so there are no inbound ports to open.
- 2
Register your projects
Add each project with its folder and start command. Node.js, Python, PHP/Laravel, Go, Rust, Ruby, Java, .NET and Docker projects are supported, and projects can be grouped into workspaces.
- 3
Open the dashboard anywhere
Sign in from your phone or any browser to see every registered project, its status, port, CPU and memory.
- 4
Act, then verify
Start, stop or restart a project, read its live logs, and confirm it is healthy again - all from the same screen.
See what is actually running
The dashboard shows each project's live status and resource use, and the Active Port Monitor lists the ports listening on the machine - including servers you started by hand outside Dev Server Deck.
Recover without remote desktop
When something breaks while you are away, open the project's live logs on your phone, find the error, and restart it. Project databases can be started and stopped with the project, with per-platform commands for Windows and Linux.
Share a running result
Open a one-click tunnel to a local dev server when someone needs to see the running app, without deploying it.
Go further when you need to
Pro adds Quick Commands for one-off terminal commands - even when a project is not running - and the Remote Git Workflow to review diffs, commit, push and publish GitHub Releases from the same place.
One control plane, not another remote-access tool
Dev Server Deck does not replace your terminal, Git client or IDE. It gives you one operational view of the development machine - projects, logs, ports, commands, Git, tunnels and databases - so you can observe and control it from anywhere. When you want to go further, Studio lets you run AI coding agents against the same projects.
- Projects, workspaces and cross-runtime tasks
- Live logs, port monitoring, CPU and memory
- Scan for servers you started by hand and link them
- A browser terminal for every project - no SSH setup
- Browse and download files from the machine
- Automatic project backups with restore
- Headless VPS install and remote Agent updates
- Quick Commands and Remote Git Workflow (Pro)
- Live code editing and AI coding agents with any provider (Studio)
- Per-project team roles and AI provider sharing (Business)
What you need to know
- The development machine must be powered on, awake and connected to the internet.
- The Local Agent runs on Windows and Linux; macOS is coming soon. Headless Linux servers install it as a systemd service.
- The Agent connects outward to the relay; you do not open inbound ports or expose the machine directly.
Questions
- Is this different from remote desktop?
- Yes. Instead of streaming the whole screen, Dev Server Deck gives you a phone-friendly view of your projects and the actions you actually need: start, stop, restart, logs, ports, commands and Git.
- Do I need a VPN or port forwarding?
- No. The Local Agent makes an outbound connection to the Dev Server Deck relay, and the dashboard reaches the machine through it.
- Can I try it for free?
- Yes. The Free plan covers one machine with start, stop and restart, live logs, port monitoring, tunnels and workspace grouping, with 10 project control actions per day.
Free plan
Remote project control, live logs and port monitoring are included in the Free plan.
